  • LIAKP Episode 57 - Unification Day, My Ass!
by Life In A Kilt on September 28, 2017 at 7:32 pm

Sorry about the title of the show. It's just that every time we mention a butt in the title of a show, it's our highest rated episode. (You people are sick.) On this episode Cheri brings in a nice "warming beverage" to go with our Live Beer Review. Tasty! We discuss our August Listener Challenge winner with our favorite Judge-a-holic, Doug in a Pub. It becomes quite obvious that Cheri is in a foul mood but she still has enough spirit to celebrate Unification Day. Rick may have found a new Alaska cabin but also finds 17 reasons why he (or anyone else) should not move to Alaska. In anticipation of our "Kilt of Horrors" episode, Rick and Cheri tell the scariest thing that has ever happened to them. Our Live Beer Review casts a spell with Warlock Imperial Stout by Southern Tier Brewing Company. Happy fall, y'all! […]

  • LIAKP Episode 55 - This Blows
    by LifeInAKilt.com on September 14, 2017 at 11:26 am

It seems like a good portion of the southern United States is recovering from hurricanes and here in Atlanta we're no different. Rick and Cheri spent most of the week preparing for Hurricane Irma to fly over. Rick decided to go out in the breeze and check out his new kilt pin which seemed to be a success. Cheri destroys the myth that working from home is a good idea. Rick believes that the universe is starting to specifically prepare him for life in the Alaskan wilderness by giving him a series of life tests. Cheri has a very telling relationship dream which may have given her hope to one day share a life with an actual real person. Rick tells a story about a first date and poop, which doesn't end very well. Our Live Beer Review takes us on a vacation of taste with Cigar City Brewing's Florida Cracker. Thanks for listening and supporting us, friends. Stay safe out there! […]

  • LIAKP Episode 52 - Kicking Up The Dust
    by LifeInAKilt.com on August 27, 2017 at 1:10 pm

It's been an action-packed week with lots of events. We saw a solar eclipse, the fall of several Civil War monuments and the demolition of half of Rick's house. We discuss all those events and more here on Episode 52. Cheri brings in some freshly painted blue hair and has praise for the hair paint company. A listener asks if large men (300+ pounds) should wear kilts, so we weigh in on that topic (sorry). Cheri is wondering if she has a "Mommy Complex" and then promptly lists a box full of mommies she might be crushing on. Rick is pretty sure his story idea for the Second Annual Kilt of Horrors is going to crush all other stories in the history of stories. But he isn't eligible to win anything, so who cares? In our Live Beer Review, we pucker up big-time for the sourness of G&T Gose by Anderson Valley Brewing Company. […]

Rick will give you some facts you may not know about one of the oldest and most popular fabrics in the world. Cheri ponders whether it's a good idea to loan a family member money. Rick brings out a new collection of Missed Connections with a new twist: these Missed Connections are destined to be a bad, bad idea. by LifeInAKilt.com on August 10, 2017 at 3:59 pm

We've made it to Episode 50 and Rick is dreaming of the winter cold weather to wear his kilt in. Maybe he'll get all he needs during his year in Alaska. In the meantime, he's thinking of retiring some of his kilts for awhile. Only the ones he rarely wears any more. Will he regret it? Over the weekend, Rick watched the documentary "Can We Take A Joke?" and has come to the conclusion that everyone in the world should take a couple hours of their lives to watch it as well. A discussion about what is offensive and should offensive speech be stifled ensues. Rick asks Cheri if she's ever not dated someone simply because of their name. Have you? Take a listen to several "out of style" girl's name which are making a comeback. Cheri shares some Star Trek facts and Rick introduces a new Dumbass for the Dumbass Hall of Fame. Rick is preparing for all the remodeling construction that will be happening in his new house. Hmm... maybe it's a good time to start his Alaska adventure. A discussion about "earworm" songs causes Cheri to admit she enjoys planting the worms in people's ears. Rick has an uncomfortable breakfast experience and Cheri tells the "tail" of a naked toddler running amok at a vegan restaurant. We welcome the return of our sponsor Kiltagra. Our Live Beer Review rolls out Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale by Alltech. […]
